The Yangtze Business Network 2011: Serving Industries with Efficiency, Safety and Reliability
31 March 2011 at the Regal International East Asia Hotel in Shanghai

Overview
• My freight forwarder tells me that the journey time between Chongqing and Shanghai is 15-20 days. Why do officials claim only five days?
• When will my local port run a regular container shipping service as reliable as a train or bus service?
• My cargo disappears from view as soon as it is loaded on to a vessel. How can the authorities help improve cargo visibility for us shippers?
• Our global commitments of carbon emission reduction have forced us to reassess our logistics strategy and seriously look into using the waterway. Is the Yangtze a viable option?
You can ask these and many more questions directly to senior officials from central and local government at the Yangtze Business Network Conference 2011. Co-organised by us and the Yangtze River Administration of Navigational Affairs under the Ministry of Transport, the conference is a unique platform for manufacturers, shipping lines and 3PLs to meet face-to-face with central regulators and local government officials in charge of ports, transport and inward investment.
This one-day event is a great opportunity to find out about the latest developments in the Yangtze modernisation programme and to exchange notes with those already operating in the interior and voice concerns directly with local and central government representatives.

Conference format
The conference will comprise two parts: Chinese and Western speakers will make presentations in the morning and early afternoon sessions; this will be followed by a matchmaking session, involving a series of pre-scheduled meetings that aim to promote dialogue and meaningful contact between shippers and government officials.
