The 2012 Yangtze Business Network conference: Shipping Dangerous Cargo Safely on the Yangtze
Thursday 22 March 2012 at the Regal International East Asia Hotel in Shanghai

• How will State Council Decree 591 impact the future of China’s chemical industry?
• What are the opportunities and challenges facing chemical manufacturers on the Yangtze?
• What steps are the authorities taking to ensure the safe shipment of dangerous cargo on the Yangtze?
• What special procedures must DG vessels take to pass the Three Gorges and how long must they wait to pass the shiplocks?
• What improvements to DG vessels will result from the vessel standardisation programme and when will they come into effect?

You can ask these and many more questions directly to senior officials from central regulators and regional maritime safety authorities at the 2012 Yangtze Business Network conference. Co-organised by us and the Yangtze River Administration of Navigational Affairs under the Ministry of Transport, the conference is a unique platform for chemical manufacturers and their service providers to meet face-to-face with central regulators, regional MSA officials and local government officials in charge of ports, transport and inward investment.

This one-day event is a great opportunity for delegates to find out about government policy as it relates to supervising DG shipping on the Yangtze and to exchange notes with those already operating in the interior and raise issues directly with local and central government representatives.

Conference format
The conference will comprise two parts: Chinese and Western speakers will make presentations in the morning and early afternoon sessions; this will be followed by a two-hour matchmaking session, involving a series of pre-scheduled meetings that aim to promote dialogue and meaningful contact between shippers and government officials.

Who should attend?
