Wuhan-based Dongfeng Automobile said it expected to sell 170,000 vehicles in 2008, reported China Daily. The Chinese carmaker outstripped its competitors in sales of pickup trucks for the first 11 months of the year, rising 14.2 per cent year-on-year. In the same period, it exported 12,000 vehicles, rising 85 percent year-on-year. Its engine-making joint venture with Cummins of the US, the Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co, sold 158,000 units of engines between January and November.
