A rock collapse forced the temporary closure of the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway’s Jinyun Mountain Tunnel on 28 June. Hundreds of vehicles trapped inside the tunnel were freed by emergency services within about half an hour, and no casualties were reported.

The rock fall followed a period of prolonged, heavy rain in Chongqing.
