China Shipping Container Lines has announced peak season surcharges and rate increases on most of its major trade lanes, according to Exim News Service.
A peak season surcharge for shipments on Asia-European/Mediterranean lines of US$ 200 per TEU has been in effect since the start of September. From 1 October, the emergency bunker surcharge has been raised to US$200 per TEU.
At the same time, China Shipping has also announced a rate increase from the Far East to the US east coast of US$50 per FEU. For cargo bound for the US west coast, the increase will be US$150 per FEU.
Peak season surcharges have also been announced for cargo to South and Central America, Australia, the Middle East and Africa.
