Statistics from Chongqing municipal government revealed a 52 per cent year-on-year increase to Rmb76.2bn in utilised domestic investment in the first three-quarters of 2009. The most popular investment destinations were in the north-eastern part of Chongqing, including the districts of Nan’an, Yubei and Shapingba.
The majority of domestic investors, 79 per cent, came from the coastal region. Investment from Guangdong province topped the list, increasing 97 per cent to Rmb15.7bn. Investment from Beijing rose by 33 per cent to Rmb13.6bn, while investment from Zhejiang province totalled Rmb9.4bn, an increase of 47.5 per cent.
