Chongqing will start to widen its airport highway to eight lanes by the end of April, with the project set to be completed by 1 July 2011, according to Chongqing Construction Commission.

The highway is the main route to Jiangbei International Airport, with 64,100 vehicles passing every day. It is hoped that the driving speed on the airport highway will be increased to 80 kph once the widening project is completed.
