Grand Alliance revives Central China Express service
Members of the Grand Alliance consortium of container shipping lines will relaunch next month the Central China Express they suspended in December 2009 when it merged with the Pacific Northwest Express service connecting North Asia to the Pacific southwest, reported Exim News Service.
The revived service will deploy five 5,500-6,500 TEU ships, two from OOCL and three from NYK, and will revert to its old rotation of Busan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Los Angeles, Oakland and back to Busan.
The Grand Alliance will also reportedly start a new Eur-Asia-West Coast North America pendulum service involving the deployment of 16 new 7,500-8,750 TEU Hapag-Lloyd ships. The service will replace the existing Asia-Europe Loop B and transpacific NWX loop services.
