Hong Kong remained the second-largest cargo airport in 2009, after Memphis in the US, with an annual volume of 3.38m tonnes. This was down 7.5 per cent year-on-year, according to the Airport Council International.

Memphis International Airport and Dubai airport were the only two leading airports to report growth over the year; all other airports saw their cargo volumes fall.
