Shanghai’s 11th subway line started trial operation on 10 April. Metro Line 10, which is 29.6km long, will officially open after a three-month trial period, said a municipal government official.

The line is expected to experience busy traffic during the six-month Shanghai Expo, which starts on 1 May, as it passes close to the universities of Fudan, Shanghai Jiaotong and Tongji as well as the central business districts.
