Yangtze maritime safety authorities have warned of heavy storms this summer. The flood season has only recently started but the Yangtze valley, and the middle reaches in particular, has already experienced very high levels of rainfall, raising concerns of heavy flooding throughout this summer.

The Yangtze MSA has urged vessel captains and chief engineers to be watchful at all times. Vessels are advised to anchor safely if the weather deteriorates.
