A total of 30.46m young fish were released into the Yangtze River in Jiangyin on 12 June in a bid to increase fish stocks. Since a programme of restocking began in 2002, a total of more than 85m fry of various species have been released into the river. According to a story in China News Services, fish stocks have been recovering as a consequence.
