Construction of a coal port started on 12 June in Jinzhou, a city in northeast China’s Liaoning province. The port is designed to boost the transport of coal from Inner Mongolia autonomous region to southern China. It will have an annual handling capacity of 35m tonnes when first phase construction is completed by 2013.
Another coal port in Suizhong county is expected to have an annual capacity of 100m tonnes. | |
