Wuhan Shan De Xin Mining Investment said that it had won the right to explore a major chrome mine in the Philippines, after four years of investigating sites in South Africa, Turkey, India and the Philippines, according to a story published by Yangtze Daily.
The company’s general manager Mr Li Chuming told the newspaper that the mine covers an area of 2,700 hectares and contains several thousand tons of chrome ore deposits. The concentrate is used to make ferrochromium, which is in turn used in the manufacture of stainless steel and some other alloys.
