The Hilton Hotel in Chongqing was cleared to reopen on 29 June after its operations were suspended nine days earlier for alleged involvement in prostitution and gang-related activities, local police said.
Nearly 60 people, including the hotel’s major shareholder, Peng Zhiming, were detained after a police raid on 19 June.
The hotel’s general manager, Jean Philippe Jacopin, said the hotel’s management will ensure prostitutes are no longer allowed to enter the hotel.
