A former senior justice official in Chongqing was executed on 7 July, the city’s higher court said. The 55-year-old Wen Qiang, former director of the Chongqing Municipal Judicial Bureau, was sentenced to death in April for accepting bribes, shielding criminal gangs, rape and failing to account for his cash and assets.
