Boosted by an upturn in trade levels, Shanghai port posted a container throughput of 11.4m TEU between January and May 2010. This was 18 per cent up on the 9.6m TEU recorded in the same period last year, the municipal government said.

Throughput is on course to exceed an earlier prediction of 25.5m TEU for the whole of 2010, reported Xinhua.
