Wuhu-based Chery Automobile, one of China’s leading carmakers, exported 38,107 units in the first half of 2010, an increase of 154 per cent year-on-year. This was more than any other domestic car manufacturer. In June alone, it exported 8,053 units, 106 per cent more than in the same month of last year.
Chery sold 500,000 cars in 2009, which it aims to increase to 900,000 in 2010 by the launch of 17 new models under its three brands.
