On 5 September, the 22082 container train service carrying 112 TEU departed Wuhan Rail Container Hub, signalling the beginning of its full operation.
The Rmb700m hub is part of a network of 18 across the country designed for container cargo. It has an annual handling capacity of 1.6m TEU and is connected with the Beijing-Guangzhou railway, one of the busiest lines in China. The hub is also connected with Yangsi and Yangluo river terminals, allowing smooth transition of boxes between trains and barges.
