The first batch of HP notebooks made in Chongqing and flown to Europe has been transported to Belgium in just over 10 hours. A total of 3,900 units, weighing around 40 tons, were loaded onto the Boeing 747 from a special storage facility at Chongqing Jiangbei airport.
The company says it takes just four hours between the arrival of products at the facility and getting them loaded onto a plane. Customs staff have been trained to try to complete administrative procedures in just 10 minutes.
Most of the HP notebooks made in Chongqing will be transport by rail and ocean, which is much cheaper than air transport but takes about 30 days. | |
