Changan Ford Mazda Automobile is to build a new engine manufacturing plant in Chongqing at a cost of US$500m.

The joint venture between Changan Motors, Ford and Mazda Motor signed an MOU with the local government to build the plant. It will have the capacity to produce 400,000 engines a year, thereby more than doubling existing capacity of 350,000 units. Increased output will support the joint venture’s vehicle manufacturing facilities in the city.
