Yangtze Maritime Safety Authorities have begun a month-long inspection programme of terminals and vessels. From 27 September, an inspection team has been checking the operations of all 251 river terminals located within the MSA’s remit (upstream of Jiangsu province) along with their working vessels that handle dangerous goods.

Inspections involve looking at documentation, safety standard and emergency procedures, provisions for staff training and routine maintenance.
