A collision between an intercity bus and a cement truck on a foggy highway outside Nanjing in Jiangsu province killed at least 17 people, according to state media. Another 23 were injured, six seriously.

A Xinhua report said the collision, which occurred on 9 October, caused the truck to catch fire.

The crash occurred between Nanjing and Hefei, capital of neighbouring Anhui province.
