The forwarding division of DHL in China has signed a partnership agreement with the state-owned Shanghai Lingang Free Trade Port Economic Development Co, reported IFW. The deal reflects DHL’s desire to expand its presence in the Yangshan Bonded Terminals and Shanghai Lingang industrial areas.
Shanghai Lingang is situated in Yangshan Free Trade Port area, next to Shanghai Yangshan deepwater port, and some 25km from Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
“DHL will partner Shanghai Lingang Group to jointly approach customers to optimise and design their logistics networks when importing or exporting out of China key ports,” said Alfred Goh, Senior VP at DHL.
Liu Jiaping, Chairman and President of Shanghai Lingang, said the deal would help establish the Shanghai Lingang industrial area as a key logistics hub and distribution centre for Asia.
