Local governments have pledged to provide Rmb15.6bn to fund the construction of the Guangan-Chongqing-Luzhou expressway by 2015, according to a Chongqing government website.

Connecting the Sichuan cities of Guangan and Luzhou, much of the expressway’s total length of 195km will pass through Chongqing municipality. When completed, it will be the first north-south expressway in the western Chongqing/eastern Sichuan area.
