Zhangjiagang Maritime Safety Authorities released statistics on 9 November that showed that the terminal recorded a dangerous cargo throughput in the first 10 months of the year of 11.04m tons. This is the fifth year that the terminal will have reported throughput figures exceeding 10m tons.
Zhangjiagang has become the biggest DG terminal on the Yangtze, according to a news story in China News Service. In recent years, Zhangjiagang MSA has invested heavily in technologies such as VTS, GIS, AIS, GPS and CCTV which means it is now capable of monitoring more than 5,000 vessels at any one time.
