Air cargo services have begun for the first time between Pakistan and China, linking Islamabad with Kashgar in China’s Xinjiang autonomous region. The service operates once a week but the frequency could increase to daily if sufficient volumes are realised.
Until now, most cargo between the countries has been transported by truck but services are disrupted in winter when roads are often closed because of snow. | |
