Phase six of Shanghai port’s Waigaoqiao terminal started operation in late December.

Occupying an area of 1.8m sq metres and with a quay length of 1,538 metres, phase six contains three berths for containerships and four for ro-ro vessels. It has an annual capacity of 2.1m TEU and 1m automobiles. The whole project entails an investment of Rmb4.8bn.
