According to Wuhan Evening News on 5 January, local congressman Liu Yuan’s idea to introduce property incentives to attract and retain HR talent will be one of the major proposals to be discussed in the coming plenary meetings.
The key element of Mr Liu’s proposal is to develop public housing for letting to university graduates and skilled immigrant workers who typically do not qualify for low-cost housing but who cannot afford commercial property prices. Mr Liu, who has worked in the housing department of the local government for many years, suggests that such public housing should be built for this target group and let to them at prices below market rates. Moreover the properties should be well located, with good transport connections and within easy access of schools, hospitals and shops. | |
