The world’s leading convenience store chain 7-Eleven is to open two outlets in Chengdu on 17 March, reported China Retail News. A further 15 stores will open over the following three months and a total of 50 will open within a year.
Initial expansion will focus on the districts of Jinjiang, Wuhou and Qingyang, and stores will be located close to office buildings, business areas and schools.
The 50 planned stores in 2011 will all be company-owned, with franchised stores expected to be launched from next year.
