We are pleased to announce a new speaker at the Yangtze Business Network conference on 31 March in Shanghai. Tobie Gordon, head of supply chain at Nestlé Greater China, will talk about the various challenges facing the company as it enters second-, third- and fourth-tier cities in China’s interior.
Nestlé, the world’s largest packaged goods company, has extensive operations across China and it uses the road and rail networks as well as coastal shipping routes to transport its products. While it stopped using the Yangtze some time ago because of poor cargo visibility and high shrinkage rates, the company is now reassessing plans due to its global carbon emission reduction policy and the recent improvements in the Yangtze and its supporting road and rail networks.
