Insurance giant Chubb opened an office in Nanjing on 28 February. This is its first branch to open in mainland China since the company established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Shanghai in 2000.

Chubb Insurance specialises in policies involving product liability, high-tech products, export, marine cargo and life sciences. It is also engaged in medical and travel insurance and professional insurance. Its premium income totalled US$21.2bn last year.
