Air cargo demand set to rise

The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China said it plans to develop its top 20 second-tier airports to handle the anticipated increase in air cargo demand over the next five years, reported GCTL. Liu Shaocheng, director of policy research at CAAC, told a conference in Hong Kong that Chinese airports are expected to handle 6.2m tonnes of air cargo this year, rising to 9m tonnes by 2015.
