FedEx Express has opened a new station in Suzhou, Jiangsu province. It is located in Suzhou New District’s high technology zone and is the company’s third facility in the city.
Occupying an area of 2,230 sq metres, the station handles the pick-up and delivery of international express shipments for customers in the New District, Wuzhong district and part of downtown Suzhou. It is capable of sorting up to 3,000 shipments an hour.
China’s express delivery companies above a designated size handled 420m items in February, an increase of 51 per cent on the same month last year, according to statistics released by the National Post Bureau. Their revenues were up 23 per cent to Rmb9.47bn.
