The dredging project on the approach channel of Shanghai’s Waigaoqiao terminal has recently been completed, increasing the water level by two full metres to 12.5 metres, according to China Transport News. This means that fourth- and fifth-generation container vessels anchoring at Waigaoqiao can carry an extra 700 standard containers.
This particular project has been carried out as part of the Yangtze Mouth Deep Water Dredging project that has increased the water level to 12.5 metres up to Taicang. | |
