China Southern Airlines has launched a service between Sanya and Urumqi via Chongqing. The flight covers a distance of 5,200km and takes six hours, making it the longest domestic flight in terms of both distance and duration.

Sanya is the capital of Hainan island in south China, and Urumqi is capital of Xingjiang autonomous region in the far west.
