Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik (AT&S), the largest printed circuit board producer in Europe, has started construction of a US$620m plant in Chongqing’s Yufu Industrial Park, Liangjiang New Area. When completed in about two years, the plant will have an annual output value of Rmb3bn and employ 4,000 workers. It will produce mobile phones, palm computers and other portable electronic products, as well as printed circuit boards required in automobiles.

AT&S is Austria’s largest industrial investor in China, and its plant in Shanghai is the world’s largest manufacturer of high density interconnect (HDI) printed circuit boards.
