Chicony Electronics of Taiwan has begun to build a Rmb2.8bn production base in Chongqing’s Shuangfu New Area. It will mainly produce keyboards, camera modules and other consumer electronic products. Twenty-one of its key supporting companies have also sign agreements to settle in the area.

Chicony has existing manufacturing facilities in Dongguan, Guangdong province and in Wujiang, Jiangsu province.
