A special IT container rail service will start on 28 July between Shanghai and Chongqing, reported Chongqing Commerce. The service, which will load cargo at Yangpu station in Shanghai and unload at Tuanjiecun station in Chongqing, will run once a week initially with a capacity of 40-48 containers. The journey will take up to 60 hours.
The service will allow spare parts manufacturers in China’s coastal cities to transport their products to Chongqing where the finished laptops will be exported to Europe via the newly opened Chongqing-Duisburg rail service (see newsletter 6 July). | |
