Hong Kong-based Kerry Logistics has acquired controlling stakes in two Chinese logistics companies, Shanghai Huicheng Logistics and Shanghai Wisdom Group, for an undisclosed sum.

Wisdom is a non-vessel-operating common carrier and sea freight consolidation company, while HCL is a third-party logistics company specialising in the chemicals sector, with a particular focus on dangerous goods, fast- moving consumer goods and the electro-mechanical and automotive industries.

Edwardo Erni, managing director of Kerry in mainland China, said the acquisitions were a milestone for Kerry Logistics in meeting the needs of its customer base in Jiangsu province.
