Zhanyun Electronic, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Taiwan’s Quanta Group, has started construction of a laptop chassis plant in Chongqing’s Bishan Industrial Park, according to a local government website.

Phase one of the Rmb2bn project is expected to be completed at the end of 2011, with phase two due to be put into operation before June 2012. By then, the annual production value will reach Rmb4bn and more than 8,000 jobs will be created.
