The GDP of Jiangsu province in east China grew 11.4% year-on-year to Rmb2,290bn in the first half of 2011, according to Jiangsu Statistics Bureau. Last year, the economy grew 13.5 per cent.

Fixed-asset investment in Jiangsu increased 23.9 per cent year-on-year to Rmb1,180bn in the first half of this year.
