Keppel Telecommunications and Transportation has signed an agreement with Sinotrans to jointly develop and operate a river terminal in Wuhu, Anhui province.
The 50-50 joint venture marks Keppel T&T’s first port project along Yangtze River. Each party will inject Rmb140m into Wuhu Sanshan terminal, which will be situated west of the city centre, close to Lingjiang Industrial Zone and Wuhu Yangtze Bridge Industrial Zone. The city’s existing terminal is located to the east of downtown Wuhu, serving companies in Wuhu ETDZ.
In addition to port operations, Wuhu Sanshan aims to provide integrated logistics services such as international freight forwarding and other third-party logistics services. However, Keppel was unable to provide further information about the port’s planned facilities and the investment timescales.
Keppel T&T has an existing partnership with Sinotrans in Lanshi, a port along the Pearl River, in Foshan, Guangdong province.
