Work has just begun on the renovation of the Maanshan section of National Highway 205, according to China Transport News. The section, starting from the roundabout at Caishi Bridge and ending at Taqiao Bridge at the border of Maanshan and Wuhu, stretches nearly 20km. renovation of the four-lane road will cost just over Rmb1.6bn. Co-financed by the city and provincial governments, it is expected to take 20 months to complete and improve Maanshan’s road connections with the Yangtze River Delta region.
The 3,160km national highway, G205 as it was called, starts in Qinghuangdao, Hebei province and ends in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.
