Statistics from Zhenjiang Maritime Safety Authority show that for the first nine months of the year, cargo throughput in Zhenjiang port went up by 25 per cent year-on-year to 82.71m tons. The total is expected to exceed 100m tons by the end of the year.
MSA officials also reported a year-on-year increase of 21 per cent of throughput of dangerous cargo to 5.75m tons during the same period. Out of that total, 2.04m tons were liquid chemicals and 2.82m tons were petrochemical products.
Zhenjiang is located in Jiangsu province at the intersection of the Yangtze River and Grand Canal. | |
