Heavy fog affected the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in the early hours of 1 November.

Maritime safety authorities in Nanjing, Zhenjiang and Taizhou suspended traffic at one point to avoid accidents. Nanjing reported a visibility of some than 200 metres while it was no more than 50 metres in Taizhou.
