The 54 high-speed trains taken out of service following the fatal Wenzhou high-speed-rail crash in the summer are to resume operations shortly on the Beijing-Shanghai line once modifications have been made, Xinhua reported.
The trains, made by China CNR Corporation, were withdrawn in August, less than three weeks after the collision that claimed at least 40 lives.
The CRH380BL is one of China’s most advanced high-speed models and was not involved in the Wenzhou crash, but technical faults were discovered in a subsequent safety campaign. These have now been fixed, according to a Ministry of Railways official.
