Taizhou port reaches a throughput of 100m tons

23 November 2011
The Yangtze River port of Taizhou recorded a throughput of 100m tons in the first 10 months of 2011, the first time it has reached this level in any one year according to the local maritime safety authorities. A celebration ceremony was held on 22 November with a congratulatory letter from the Ministry of Transport.

This follows other Yangtze major ports in Jiangsu province – Nanjing, Zhenjiang, Jiangyin, Suzhou (Zhangjiagang and Taicang combined) – that have reached the milestone. Taizhou has become the 23rd port in the country to report an annual cargo throughput of more than 100m tons.
