The Three Gorges Administration of Navigational Affairs announced recently that a ‘green channel’ has been created for use by eight categories of vessel. They include vessels with special tasks; working vessels for maintaining the smooth operation of the Three Gorges; vessels carrying passengers and livestock; container vessels operating shuttle services; ro-ro vessels carrying commercial vehicles; and vessels carrying agricultural produce.

So long as they have all the necessary documents, these vessels will be given priority in passing the shiplocks.
