Direct flights between Chongqing and Doha started on 28 November, operated by Qatar Airways. Chongqing is the first inland Chinese destination for the carrier.

There will be three flights a week, with aircrafts arriving at Chongqing Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and taking off for Doha on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The journey time is around eight hours.
